The County Auditor is the chief financial officer for the county, but is not under the authority of the Commissioners Court. The Auditor has auditing and reporting responsibilities for the entire county government, and works together with the Commissioners Court to ensure proper management of the county's finances. By statute, the Auditor is responsible for the "strict enforcement of the law governing county finances." |
