Bid Notice Eastland County is taking bids on removing two existing block end walls at 20 linear feet x 6 linear feet x 0.75 linear feet each and installing new twin concrete culvert crossing with same dimensions on County Road 309 east of County Road 306. For additional information or to view site please call Wayne Honea, Commissioner Precinct 1 at 254-629-1303. Pursuant to Texas Labor Code 406.096 Contractor awarded the contract shall certify in writing that the contractor provides workers’ compensation insurance coverage for each employee of the contractor employed on a public project. Bids should be sealed and labeled "Concrete Bid” on the envelope. All bids must be returned to the Auditor's office by Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Loretta Key Eastland County Auditor 100 West Main, Suite 205 Eastland, TX 76448 Bids will be opened Monday, August 11, 2008 at 9:00 am in the Commissioners' Courtroom, Eastland County Courthouse. Eastland County reserves the right to reject all bids and to accept the bid that is most advantageous for the County.
March 24, 2008 TO: ALL UNITS AND STATIONS: COURT LIFTS BURNING BAN EASTLAND COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' COURT LIFTS BURNING BAN Eastland County Commissioners' Court, meeting in regular session, at 9:00 a.m. On Monday, March 24, 2008, after receiving information from other knowledgeable sources, voted to remove the OUTSIDE BURNING BAN in Eastland County with the stipulation and request that anyone intending to plan and execute any type of outside burning, please contact their nearest fire department and notify them of the time and location of the outside burning activity. Please use extreme caution with any outside burning! In making this announcement, the Commissioners' Court expressed its appreciation to the various fire fighters, fire departments, and all other citizens of Eastland County who cooperated so diligently in helping to alleviate the emergency condition of dangerous wild fire. · Remove dry vegetation from work area. · Wet down entire work area. · Keep water and a fire extinguisher handy. · Post a fire watch. Assign someone to watch for sparks that may ignite dry vegetation. · Avoid parking vehicles in tall, dry grass. · Check weather conditions before starting; please refrain from welding /cutting on days with higher wind and lower humidity.
